Be sure you have tissues at the ready when reading this book. It will have you in tears in spots, but there are enough joyous situations as well. I love Scotland and I love historic novels. Most of all, I love Christian novels. This book hits all three points! Enjoy! A must read!
Another GREAT book from Taylor!! The beginning got my interest immediately and I fell inlove with Serena and her mother right away. I promised myself I'd only read a few chapters and then get ready for the night. Didn't happen.....I couldn't put the story away and cried in amazement the last 100 pages.
Jennifer has crafted a wonderful story that gives the reader a glimpse into 1400 Scotland and their view of the disabled. Jennifer brings the story full circle as she sprinkles clues throughout the plot, bringing the book to a satisfying ending. Along with the obvious romantic twists between Serena and Gavin, the plot line that takes the reader through the justice system of medieval times is a compelling page turner. The author's meticulous research creates for the reader a wonderful historical adventure.
This beautiful story was so well written that I cried with the main characters during the agonizing events of the final chapters. I know this will be a book I will return to again and again.
